It started all back in 1995... When in our search for nothing less than pumpkin-oil, we found a family-business that also made “cold pressed hemp seed oil”. They processed this healthy, nutty-flavored oil in the same fashion their great grandparents did: Cold-pressed, with love and skill, and according to a well-guarded 120 year old tradition! – we couldn't resist, and brought the hemp-seed oil with us to Holland.
From here it went quickly; by early 1997 our little company was already distributing all the seven different products from Spirit of Hanf all over the Netherlands and we adopted the name Hemperium.
By 2000 Hemperium was growing rapidly, delivering our popular Cannabis Lollipops all over the world, as far as New Zealand. Attending hemp fairs left and right like the Cannatrade in Basel, Highlife and Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam and the Hanfparade in Berlin promoting our delicious hemp foods, drinks and accessories.
After a creative Hemp-Heads-Meeting at the CannaBusiness 2002 between Hanf-Zeit and Hemperium the enthusiasm was unstoppable. We started off with the production of our famous 'Hemp Jack' and original Hemp Biscuits. The mood was set and the response overwhelming. Soon enough, beginning of 2003, this led to the creation of the Coco Hempy's and the Hemp (9)Bar to expand our collection.
In 2006 it was time for a change. A years few years had passed and our customers were so crazy about our cookies, that the meanwhile immense popular Hemp Biscuits really needed new packaging. But this time with a lid! No need to eat the whole tub anymore. You can now close and re-open your fresh tub of favorite Hemp Biscuits.
The same year we released our first 'CannaMint' hemp tea. Original hand-picked hemp tea mix with Moroccan Nana mint. "A delicious herbal fusion tea that helps you find balance in a busy life and gives you a sense of well-being, refreshment and relaxation."
On to the year 2009! After mixing various variations of hemp tea we figured it was time for something new and pure. Hemperium & Hanf Zeit present... 100% pure Hemp Bud Tea!
Well there you go. Our history in a nutshell still takes up a page. We're pretty much done here for now...
